Known for having more than 365 churches, its closeness to the majestic Popocatépetl volcano, its typical Talavera Art and traditional cuisine, Cholula is a popular travel destination.
The team of Español con ZALOA loves to create unforgettable experiences that boost your Spanish and make you practice it in real life situations. The week before the Polyglot Conference is the perfect time to go explore Cholula, to discover the hidden gems and to connect with people, all while learning Spanish with native instructors that make you speak the language and share with you the best of their culture.
During these days you will go deeper into the Mexican Spanish and Mexican culture. Being close to "Día de los Muertos", you will discover a lot about this ancient celebration that is so important in Mexico.

Spanish Immersion
Making progress with your Spanish is the main goal of this experience. You will certainly do so, as you will be learning, listening and speaking Spanish all day for 4 days!
Cultural Activities
Language and culture go together. To immerse yourself in the Spanish language, it's also necessary to know more about the Mexican culture.
In this Spanish Immersion, we will bring you closer to the culture with local activities. You'll discover one of the most important colonial towns of Mexico.
Gastronomic Experience
Did you know that the gastronomy of Puebla is considered an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO?
We will also have activities in which you will prepare, enjoy and learn more about the delicious traditions surrounding Mexican food.

We will discover the history and the process of making this beautiful style of pottery that originated in Puebla. Talavera is used as decoration in houses and public spaces all around the city.

You will get a real taste of the true vibrancy of Mexican culture while wandering through the local mercado. Discover Mexican fruits, vegetables and flowers you have never tasted before.

I’m a Spanish tutor, proudly Mexican, even though I don’t like “aguacate” (avocado) I do can prepare a delicious guacamole, but that’s not the point!
I truly believe that getting closer with the culture, local life and practing is the best way to achieve fluency!
We will be together in these 4 days full of activities, to get to know more about Mexican culture and Mexican Spanish.

What level do I need to participate?
This immersive week is designed for beginners and intermediate Spanish speakers. If you have studied a little Spanish but still have trouble expressing yourself, you will be listening and speaking Spanish during the whole week.

What activities can I expect?
We will explore and connect with the Mexican culture. Every day we, will have a group session of Spanish grammar, vocabulary and will have special activities to learn more about the history, gastronomy and culture of the place, we will go out to explore the local life and visit the most representative places of this historic town. We will walk around Cholula to practice and talk to locals to learn the beauty of the Mexican Spanish.
These days are close to the historical celebration of the "Day of Deads" (Día de los Muertos), we will learn a lot about this ancient tradition.
How do I get to Cholula?
San Andres Cholula is a magical town in the state of Puebla which is a two-hour drive from Mexico City. It's easy to arrive by car, bus (Ebus, ADO, Estrella Roja) or even plane, as Puebla also has a small international airport only 30 minutes away from Cholula.
